Black Law P.A. is a boutique Florida litigation firm where people actually like each other — and like winning for clients even more. We work hard, hold each other accountable, laugh a lot, and don't take ourselves too seriously (just our cases). Four ideas guide everything we do here.

Our Four Pillars

What it takes to thrive here.

Teamwork

Nobody wins alone here. We cover for each other, share the wins, share the work, and treat "I don't know, but let me find out" as a complete sentence.

Ambition

We're proud of being a boutique business litigation firm — but never a complacent one. The bar moves up every year, and the people we hire enjoy that.

Attention to Detail

Our clients pay us to catch what others miss. We sweat the details — every motion, every email, every meeting. "Close enough" isn't a phrase we use.

Emotional Intelligence

We assume good intent, lift each other up, and go the extra mile to make a colleague's or client's day a little easier. Negativity doesn't survive long here.

The work matters. The way we do it matters more.

About Us

Black Law P.A. is a Florida civil litigation firm with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Tampa. We handle commercial litigation, employment disputes, construction matters, and business and partnership disputes. We are a small, fast-moving team, which means the person in this role sees real cases move from filing to trial, not busywork in a back room.

About the Role

This is a hands-on support position for someone who likes getting things done and being trusted with them. You will be the person who makes sure the mail gets opened, the deposit gets made, the binder is tabbed correctly, and the hearing gets on the calendar. Attorneys here depend on that work being right, and we notice when it is.

If you are considering law school, paralegal certification, or a career in legal support, this is a genuine front-row seat. You will be inside an active litigation practice, around real filings and real deadlines, from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Run local errands: court filings and pickups, bank deposits, deliveries to opposing counsel and clients, and office supply runs
  • Retrieve, sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail and packages
  • Assemble hearing and deposition binders, including printing, tabbing, indexing, and organizing exhibits
  • Enter and maintain calendar items, including hearings, deadlines, and appointments
  • Scan, label, and file documents in our case management system
  • Copy, collate, and organize case documents and closing files
  • Keep common areas, conference rooms, and supply areas stocked and presentable
  • Provide general administrative backup to attorneys and staff as needed

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance
  • Genuine attention to detail. In litigation, a mislabeled exhibit or a missed calendar entry has consequences
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and general tech confidence
  • Ability to handle confidential client information with complete discretion
  • Dependability and punctuality. We are counting on you to be here
  • A professional, courteous presence with clients, court staff, and colleagues
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes of files (up to 25 lbs)

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Prior office, administrative, or customer service experience
  • Familiarity with Broward County courthouse or Florida court filing procedures
  • Interest in law school, paralegal work, or a legal career

Schedule & Compensation

  • $25 per hour
  • 20 hours per week (4 hours per day, Monday through Friday)
  • In-office position at our Fort Lauderdale location
  • This is a part-time position and is not eligible for firm benefits
